Hi @strarsis,
Thank you for reporting this and for sharing the details.
We’ve forwarded your report to our technical team for further investigation. They’ll review the PHP warning reported by Query Monitor and determine the appropriate fix.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will provide an update as soon as we have more information.
Thanks again!
Hi @strarsis,
Thank you again for reporting this issue.
Our team has now fixed the problem internally. Could you please download the latest beta build and test it on your environment?
Beta plugin
Once you’ve had a chance to test it, we’d really appreciate it if you could share your feedback and let us know whether the issue has been resolved.
Thank you again for helping us improve Post SMTP!
The link to the Beta plugin takes me to a .zip file that is ~20MB compressed and ~33MB uncompressed. That does not seem like a plugin update to me.
Hi @boardboss,
Thanks for pointing that out. I completely understand your concern.
The beta build is a complete plugin package rather than just a patch, which is why the file size is larger than expected. Post SMTP bundles several third-party libraries (such as PHPMailer, and dependencies for OAuth, Gmail. SES, and other integrations), and these account for the majority of the approximately 20 MB size. The actual code change for this fix is quite small; the file size simply reflects the full plugin build rather than the scope of the update.
The fix has already been tested internally and specifically addresses the following deprecation warning:
Using null as an array offset is deprecated
If you’re comfortable doing so, please install the beta version and let us know how it performs on your site. The fix is also scheduled to be included in the upcoming public release.
We appreciate you taking the time to report the issue and help us improve the plugin. We look forward to your feedback.
No worries, I just needed to increase my PHP upload size. I had not realised the plugin was that large as it was originally installed from the repository. WordPress does not offer the ability to install a plugin from a URL like Joomla does. Well, maybe with a plugin, but I would not do that.
