Query: Found Search And Replace for Block Editor

    Hi,

    I was looking for a Find and Replace plugin that would allow me to replace text within an article rather than across the entire site.

    Unfortunately, the “Advanced Editor Tools” plugin was the best I could find, but it only works with the Classic Editor.

    I found a chrome extension named “Find & Replace” that did exactly what I needed.

    My question is whether or not this chrome extension will cause any issues or modifications in the code; I couldn’t notice any issues after the update, but is there anything I should be aware of while using this chrome extension?`

    Hi @qph9697,

    I’m afraid I’m unable to say how a Chrome extension will modify things. Typically they can only operate on what’s available in the browser and shouldn’t have access to things like your WP database.

    That said, always take a backup of your site before you use a tool such as this.

    A search and replace Plugin for an article sounds like a great idea for a Plugin. Hopefully someone will build it soon.

    Yes, I tried some other chrome extensions, they did the job, but I was not able to access the block settings.

    But this one didn’t cause any issue, but still thought of confirming with the Gutenberg team.

    @qph9697 I’m glad you managed to find a work around.

    Hopefully a search/replace Plugin specifically for the editor will be created one day.
