Well, they work now because I turned off the “variations to grid” plugin I had installed. That plugin put the 2 variation options in a table like structure, and it was their up/down quantity buttons that don’t work. So I had to shut it off and go back to the regular interface.

I’m wondering if that plugin I saw somewhere from Woo that adds the “old” code for the quantity buttons back, as it was changed in a recent update.

Not sure if I’ll pursue that though.

Those buttons are sometimes overridden by the theme itself. By default, WC uses HTML5 specification for that input field – practically this means that the browser itself then becomes responsible for the generation of the quantity selectors.

With that being said, you could consider using https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-quantity-increment/ if you really want them back 🙂

I did try that plugin. Didn’t make a difference.

Just to be clear, I see up/down arrows right in the quantity box. They are there. They will increase the quantity if you click the up button.

However, when you hit add to cart, the cart just gets 1. So the buttons are there. When I add that increment plugin, the buttons just change to a + and -, but still do not pass the actual quantity through.

Best bet would be to ping the “variations to grid” author. It does sound like they may be using something non-standard for their quantity buttons for it not to work right. Core itself is working fine in your case.
