    Hi, I have a quite big problem. After having created a theme child (I am using the Convertible theme) the language switcher doesn’t work anymore. The site is in italian and english, but now it shows only the english versione http://www.site.com/en/).

    Before doing it it worked perfectly. Now I tried to reload the original theme but still it doesn’t work.

    I also tried to re-install qTranslate X and Woocommerce&qTranslate X plugins but the problem is still there. It seems that the function

    <?php echo qtranxf_generateLanguageSelectCode(‘text’); ?>

    does not work properly anymore.

    any help? I am in a mess as the site is almost finished and should be put online

    Thank you!

    @elena18,

    do you use Visual Composer?

    See here known-issues

    Section:

    If other plugin installs a custom TinyMCE editor on a translatable field served by qTranslate-X, then all kind of problems start to happen.

    Yes my theme comes with visual composer and I faced some problems when editing the pages, but I overpassed them in the last two weeks by simply working with shortcodes and not using the VC

    Should I try to delete that plugin?

    You can first try to deactivate it and see if that makes a difference.

    I just did it but nothing changed. Did you receive my email with the login details to my website?

    Yes, I will have to see if I can do something for you.

    Thanks. It is really strange because it happened all suddenly, and just when I created a child theme (which however seems not related to the problem as I just imported a couple of style sheets)

    Let me know if you need the ftp access keys

    Try to switch to a default WP theme and see if it makes a difference

    Can you go back to these conditions?

    I tried, but nothing!

    I wonder if I should delete the whole thing, included the database, and start again

    The problem is that if I re-install your plugin it keeps automatically all the settings it had before. Do you have any suggestion on how to delete the database settings before re-installing qTranslateX? This would help

    Found your link… I’ll try it
