• Hello Everyone,

Im having some issue with my Qnap webserver and wordpress.

I have install the WordPress App on my Qnap and I setup the first site, everything working ok and the site is running.

Now I wanted to host another wordpress site on my Qnap and I found that article that shows how to install it. I have download the WordPress install and follow all the steps. site was install and it is working the only thing that Im having trouble with is –

When I want install a plugin it will ask me for connection information, I do not have FTP enable on my qnap and I did not need it for my first wordpress site , that working fine and does not ask for any connection information.

If I enable my FTP on my qnap it will let me install the plugin and if I need to install another plugin it will ask for the information again. I have also make sure I have the same permission on all folders, that only thing that is different and probably important, is – when I create the first site using the APP provided with qnap it create 3 users for that website folder (httpd, 501,502) all have different permission. I have try to add these users but qnap does not have anyway to add them.

so my question is how i can get my second wordperss site, installing plugin like my first wordpress site, without asking me for connection information every time I want to install a plugin.

    Thanks

  • Have you first installed WordPress through one-click installation app on Qnap? If yes, then it will not ask for the FTP login details. You can install another WordPress on a subdomains and map it to your domain’s subfolder. WordPress only asks FTP details if you are uploading the zip/exe installation file manually to your server.
