Is Super PWA not working together with OneSignal Push Notifications? I noticed that my add to homescreen doesn’t show anymore.

When I generated a Lighthouse report, my PWA grade went down from 100 to 55.

Have you tried installing both plugins together and still make the PWA feature work?

I was able to add a custom manifest. So I added superwpa-manifest as a custom manifest under OneSignal settings.

    Now, OneSignal doesn’t prompt anymore.

I wonder if you have tried to activate double prompt? First add to homescreen, then next is the subscribe to notifications prompt. 😀

    Hello @jehzlau,

Good day and thanks for using our plugin SuperPWA. As OneSignal is also using their own ServiceWorker and registering as first than our plugin does, our Service Worker is not get registered in this case.

We’re on the final testing to resolve this issue with OneSignal plugin, and working hard to release it once Version 1.6 rolls out.

    Thanks,
    Jose

Just a quick question on this @josevarghese

If the plugin gets integrated with onesignal in version 1.6, then will the user have to subscribe separately for the PWA and for the onesignal push notifications? or will the integration happen at the backend once he downloads PWA?

Meaning, if he downloads PWA and has ignored push notification prompt, will he still get push notifications?

Looking forward to your feedback. I have never used onesignal but a friend recommended that PWA without push notification means half the traffic!

@josevarghese – Thanks. For now I have a workaround. I set your manifest as a custom manifest, then activated the bell notification on the lower left. 😀

    Hello @marketing91,

As to get subscribed for getting push notifications from a website, every user should provide notification permission during the prompt.

Within our version 1.6, we’re integrating both OneSignal and PWA to work perfectly without any issues.

    Hope it helps.

    Thanks,
    Jose

@jehzlau I think that worked well in that context? Isn’t it?

For now, it does it job. 😀

But I can’t wait for the release of Super PWA version 1.6. ^__^

Good day @jehzlau ! Glad to inform that as from our current version (version 1.8), SuperPWA is supporting OneSignal. As for working SuperPWA with OneSignal you need to do a small change within the OneSignal settings page.

Please go through the steps at this article to setup OneSignal with SuperPWA, so that you can make it more easily. We’re eagerly looking for your feedback’s and how it turns out for you!
