Putting summaries of my blog on my home page? (9 posts)

I have a new WP blog -- http://www.paullima.com/blog. I thought it would be interesting to put headline summaries of my blog posts on my home page -- http://www.paullima.com I think I've seen things like this on other sites. I presume the summaries are generated automatically, not manually inserted.

Anyone know how I'd do that or where I'd go to research how to do it. Thanks.

The easiest way would be to use the RSS feeds of your blog. ALthough you'll have to search here and on Google how to do it on a html file.

None of those would work on a HTML file :)

    Yeah, I just caught that.

I should add mention of Feedburner's service to that article soon, it'll add blog headlines to html with just a snip of javascript.

My wife runs a web site with a discussion board and in the discussion board admin panel you can create a 'content island' -- two lines of java code that you add to any page, like your home page. The content island displays anywhere from 1 to 15 headlines (you choose), hot-linked to dicusssion board threads. It's very cool. One day I hope we see that for WP blogs.

This was posted a few days ago: a method to display rss feeds on a html file:

    (use the JS version)

If you're using FeedBurner, you can do that now.

I resolved this issue by using Magpie RSS to display my feed on my home page. You can see it at http://www.thestopsmokingguide.com in the right navigation column.
It was easy to download, install and configure.
