Putting official www. on blog site

    Hi,

    I’m relatively new to wordpress and I’m trying to figure out how to put my official web blog address onto the site. I use host gator and right now my blog is reading http://66.7.206.240/~sakul/blog/. I want to put the actual blog address on the site, and I’ve been watching so many youtube videos on how to do this. Unfortunately I get lost in a lot of the technical language. Please help if you have done this before. I don’t want a subdomain. I want the users to type the website name/blog and be that simple. Thanks

    I went to Changing_The_Site_URL and tried: Changing the URL directly in the database, but that didn’t work. It just must up my wordpress interface. I had to fix it by putting back in the original link.

    I’m trying to use the ftp option where I transfer the folders, but what is the difference between public_html and www in the ftp folder. I for some reason have a blog folder in each.

    Sorry if I sound like an idiot, but I’m not a technical savy person that does this for a living.
