    Hi Clint,

Really nice and very useful plugin.

    I dropped this code
    <?php echo do_shortcode( ‘[plugin_delete_me /]’ ); ?>
at the bottom of the edit-account.php file as advised elsewhere and it works. I got the text “Delete account” at the very bottom of the page and clicking on it works. But it looks a bit scrappy and out of place to jast have this test lying there so…

I then looked at the settings again and saw that there was a form option so I enabled that and hey presto, a form appeared instead of the “Delete account” text, but…

The issue with this is that the form just appears and asks for the password. Is there any way to precede the form with a button which says “Delete account” which when clicked will show the form?

    Thanks in anticipation
    Russell

    Good afternoon Russell,

Thanks for your question. I can understand you not wanting the form to be sitting on the edit account page.

I hint at a solution to this on the Settings > Delete Me page…

Typical form use would be to place the shortcode on a custom confirmation page you create for account deletion, then link to the confirmation page from somewhere appropriate on your site (e.g. a profile page).

If that is unclear or that solution does not work for your situation, please respond and I will try to help further.

Sorry for the late response. Projects and final exams have kept me super busy the last couple weeks.

    Kind regards,
    Clint

    Hi Clint,

Hope all the projects and exams went well.

I read the bit about the typical form use but it seemed a bit of overkill, but perhaps that’s just my inexperience.

I’ve settled for changing the warning text.

I couldn’t work out how to create the link on the profile page and just what should go onto the confirmation page.

    Regards
    Russell

    Hi Russell,

Here is a 3 min video that should help explain how to create the confirmation page and link. I hope it helps.

Edit: Below is line at bottom of form-edit-account.php page in the video.

    <a href="<?php echo esc_url( get_permalink( 8 ) ); ?>">Link to Delete Me Confirmation Page</a>

Hi Clint and happy new year,

That was an excellent video tutorial and it did exactly what I wanted it to.

Thank you very much for that.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you but it was one of the first things that I looked into as soon as I got back to work.

    Regards
    Russell
