If your side bar menu is a Custom Menu, you can use a ‘Custom Link’ in the box on the left of the Menus panel. Just put the URL you want in the URL box and the label you want in the Label box and add it to your menu.
yes i know however i don’t know how to insert the page jump within the page link 🙂
You have the link working in another spot right? Just copy the URL from there.
no it is a page jump working in another spot
i don’t know how to insert the page jump within the page link
You just need to append a hash mark (#) followed by the name of the bookmark, to the end of the link to the other page. So, if your URL to the page looks like this:
http://www.sergiosalina.com/financial-planning-overview/
and you want to jump to the ‘Retirement Planning’ bookmark on that page, you would use this:
http://www.sergiosalina.com/financial-planning-overview/#Retirement Planning
Yes initially you said this and i tried it and it only goes to the top of the page – not to the selection 🙁
i even tried again and cut and pasted your code above and it does not work. it only goes to the top of the page.
If I copy the link I gave into the address bar of my browser, it jumps to the correct spot. Try replacing the space between ‘Retirement’ and ‘Planning’ with the HTML encoding for a space, like this:
http://www.sergiosalina.com/financial-planning-overview/#Retirement%20Planning
Use this for the URL in your Custom Link.
You can test it by clicking here.
IT WORKED!!!! you are BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!
THANKS!!!!
except for some very strange reason i can’t seem to make that work with the rest of the links – how entirely odd.
I am copying and pasting your link and just changing the words and using the %20 instead of a space.
opps the error was in the jump title!!
thank you again for all your efforts and time and have a great evening!!
kel
SO appreciated. I never would have figured that out!
