• I tested the Push Notifications in mobile Chrome.

They are working okay on the Desktop even if the user is in another tab.

BUT, the mobile Chrome seems only to show notifications if the page is not opened anymore in another tab or in the background or the user is logged out!

    Is this the expected behavior?

I think this is problematic, because maybe the user has the chrome in the background and is still logged in. (Probably)

I think this way users are going to miss all of their notifications. No one closes tabs today anymore.

I tested it on the S21 Ultra 5G with Google Chrome.

    Hi there!

Better Messages using tricky methods to detect current state of website opened tabs and then decides which type of notification to send. its using local and push notifications, based on that to provide the best experience.

Mobile devices not allowing to detect that things, so there working only push notifications, which are sent only when user is definitely offline.

The only way to improve that qualitatively is mobile app, which is already in roadmap.

    Thanks!

Wow, it’s on the Roadmap? That would be amazing even if it takes a while.

Would it be that way that someone could create an apk for his website? Probably there is not much fixed until now, but it sounds like potential!
