I’d like to add a WordPress blog to my ecommerce website, but my developers are finding it difficult to advise how this might be achieved. Hopefully someone here can help.
The eCommerce website is built in ASP and hosted on a very high spec / secure Windows based platform.
My requirement (for SEO purposes) is that the blog functions as a sub-directory rather than a sub-domain. Hopefully there won’t be language compatibility issues as I don’t need the site/blog to interact, with content for the blog held in MySQL database.
The developers do not wish (for security reasons, I believe) to place WordPress on the same server even if this was possible. This is also preferable for me as I would prefer multiple (select) users to be able to update the WordPress blog content from various locations.
Therefore, my question…
Is it possible to host the WordPress blog content on a separate (Linux?) sever, yet have it rendering as sitename.com/blog/etc…? Would this also allow me to use permalinks?
