Pull forum posts from punBB, and add it to my sidebar

  • There is a file in punbb forums called “extern.php”. It has instructions on how to add your forum posts to your site. I’d like to do this with my wordpress sidebar. Here is how it says to do it, but I can’t seem to get it to work:

    Show the 15 most recently active topics from all forums:
    include('http://host.com/forums/extern.php?action=active');

    Can some one do me a huge favor, and type out exactly what I need in order to paste this easily into my sidebar and make it work?

    My site: http://www.fraggerock.com
    Forum url: http://www.fraggerock.com/forum

    Thanks for any help, as this is driving me crazy

  • I don’t know anything about punBB but for the line you quoted the only thing you need is the “php” the beginning and the end 🙂

    <?php include.... ; ?>

    So this is what you mean:

    <?php include ('http://host.com/forums/extern.php?action=active');?>

    ?

    Thank you sir! That worked and you’re now nominated as the Fraggerock.com hero of the week!
