Pull Content from Sub Domain Sharing Same Database

    Hi, I’m not using multi-site, but have a wordpress site set up as a sub domain that shares the same database as the top level site. I was hoping to place the snippets on the sub site, to keep them separate from the main site, but be be able to bring them in for presentation on the main site. Is this possible?

    You might simply be able to make the snippets “private” and not worry about where the posts are located. Have a look at the FAQ “private” attribute.

    Thanks for the suggestion, however, my reason for wishing to set the snippet modules up on a separate WordPress installation are for organisational purposes, not privacy. We have hundreds of static pages already, and the snippet library we are planning will involve up to a thousand additional “snippet pages” – all tucked away in a folder hierarchy, i.e. Region > Country > City/Location > Property. Navigating around the directory structure would be easier if it was not loaded on top of the clutter on the main site.

    It sounds like conversion to a multisite network is your best bet. Then you could specify the content be pulled from the secondary site using RPS Include Content. However, it seems you might be better off using a custom post type and hierarchical taxonomy for what you are describing, though we don’t have a complete picture of what you are building. Hopefully this information helps you.
