• I just recently upgraded my blog to wp 2.7, and now I can seem to properly write posts anymore.

When I go to my publishing space, the text formatting tools (bold, align, linkURL, etc.) don’t appear anymore. Also, I can’t seem to switch between HTML and Visual view (not even sure which of them is enables).

I’ve deactivated all my plugins, changed my template, all in no avail. The upgrade was smooth. I deleted all my files, except wp-config.php, .htaccess and wp-content, then uploaded the new stuff.

    Here’s a screen. http://img514.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screenhv2.jpg” target=”_blank

Please help. I’m in serious need.

  • I have the same problem. I’ve just spent TWO HOURS trying to delete files and reload files. Turn off plugins, delete plugins, reload plugins. Turn off visual editor, turn on visual editor. Check my java files. Delete cache, force refresh and look at my error console (which is just reporting a lot of declaration dropping – whatever that means?!?). I’ve read through all the previous posts and replies about this issue, and I still can’t get it to work.

I have finally gotten it to a stage where it sometimes briefly shows the icons before disappearing.

I have three other blogs all sitting on a WP client and I only have this problem with my main blog. I even copied the files from those blogs to my main blog and it still didn’t work.

This is really frustrating, especially when I was made to upgrade by my WP admin panel. I’m really starting to lose faith in WP, there seems to be so many outstanding issues with 2.7 nothing on them in the way of support. Yet there’s endless mention of how many things they want to do for 2.8. How about getting 2.7 to work?

Code may be poetry, but the ability to post is bliss!

I had a similar problem with the right side of my editor screen not working. I even uploaded and installed tinymce advanced to no avail. Finally I noticed that the editor screen was impinging on the space needed by the publish, category, tags, etc tabs that were on the right side of the editor screen. I moved them below the editor screen allowing the editor screen to flow right and problem solved. You might try this as it is an easy fix if it works and no harm done if it doesn’t. By the way, the advanced editor gives you a lot more options.

Nope. Still no results. Anyone have any other ideas ?

The proposed solution did not work for us either. We’re still looking for a solution.

My editor works fine but for some reason when I try to add tags, it doesn’t want to do ANYTHING after I have pressed the add button or the enter key.

HTML editor works fine in 2.7, but when I switch to the visual editor, the editing space is all white, even though the cursor shows that text is there. Also the MCE Buttons are not visible. I’ve installed and de-installed TinyMCE Plugin but this did not change anything. How can we get the visual editor to work?

I have the same white space, I had to revert image files in wp-content to revert the files

As I said in another string, my solution was having my webhost restore v.2.6.2 No way I’ll struggle with 2.7 I can’t believe WP calls it an upgrade. They ruined a good thing.

If I add the wp 2.6.2 files, will WP work again, since I was forced to upgrade the database to 2.7? I’ll revert, if I can. (no database backup)

I’m having this exact problem with my 2.8 upgrade. Tried everything, cant post new content or edit existing.

    Anyone find a solution?

I am having the same issue with 2.8 as well.

Hi all, i’m having the same problem with 2.8 as well. hope someone finds the solution soon.
