Support » Fixing WordPress » Published Pages Not Showing Up on Blog…still, 2 years later

  • Ironically, whilst trying to resolve my problem via Googling, I stumbled across my very own thread that I wrote two years ago when I last had this problem. It was never answered then and it doesn’t look like it has been answered or fixed since so I am posting again.

As that thread has since been closed, and as I seem to have the exact same problem again, two years later, in a new and totally different blog, using WP 3.2.1 and a different theme (Fresh & Clean, , I need to ask the question again, which is why do Pages that I create not show in the Pages widget?

My problem is still that despite creating several Pages in Dashboard, and publishing them, and dragging the Pages widget to the right hand side bar, and despite all the other widgets showing up there fine, none of the pages show.

I have not enabled Permalinks. Is anyone else able to reproduce this using the same WP version and same theme?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Hi Esmi. Thanks for your help.

Deactivating plugins : Yes, have tried that.
Using different them : Yes, have tried that.
Resetting plugins folder : Will try that when I get home. I can’t access via FTP at the moment. I will let you know.

The first two I tried last time I had this problem too. It is most odd. Is no one else having this issue nor can no one else reproduce it them same as me? Latest version of WP and the the ‘Fresh & Clean’ theme? I am using the IIS version of WP, specifically. Does the normal Apache version not suffer from this issue?

I’ve not come across an issue of this type that wasn’t solved by changing the theme or removing a problem plugin.

Does the normal Apache version not suffer from this issue?

I would never say “never”. 🙂 But I do think that trying to run WordPress on IIS is often an exercise in frustration. It’s certainly far easier on an Apache server.

    Thanks man.

I gave up, and just used another theme. Pitty, as the one I chose originally was perfect.

I’ve just bought and applied the ‘Awake’ theme ( and the same problem is seen there. I create Menus and I create Pages, but the Menu’s do not display and the Pages are not listed to add to the menus.

I am at the end of my rope, and seeing as this was an issue two years ago, and is still an issue now, it must surely be a bug so I have reported it to make the developers aware. If it happens with different themes, but not all themes, there must be something in the IIS section of WordPress that is causing the problem, or some theme developers know about it but others don’t. Either way, I need an answer if possible, having just paid for a professional theme (I have also posted it on their forum ( :
