Publish to net

  • Once you install WordPress on your web server, the site is “live” and there’s no publish button. Do you have a URL to your website?

    Yes I have bought my web hosting package w/url from FatCow. I followed the instructions from both FatCow and WordPress, and I’ve been slowly building my site. But when I type in the url atop my browser, it goes to an ‘under construction’ page?

    Right, have you uploaded the WordPress files to your account. You’ll need to do this via FTP. You’ll also need to create a database and user for the database in your hosts control panel.

    Thanks & No I have not. There are so many buttons, ads, links, and on and on . . . that I can’t find the stuff I need, between WordPress and FatCow. Your instructions above are logical, I was looking for the way to do exactly that, but the path is cluttered and obscure.

    I will look into this immediately.

    No worries! Here’s a link to FatCow’s article on installing WordPress. It seems they have an easy installer:

    I built my site. I just need to publish it to the www now. How do i luanch?
