I’m edting the captioned website, running Classic Editor, without problem. It just happens the “Publish” on the right column is empty. The “Update” key is missing there for unknown cause. I couldn’t update the page after editing. Please help. Thanks in advance.

This can only happen if a plugin you are using is suppressing the output. Try deactivating all plugins and see if anything changes. If so, reactivate them one by one until you find the plugin that is causing the problem.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your advice.

    I have following plugins installed:-

    Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection
    Backuply
    Duplicator
    File Manager Advanced
    Limit Login Attempts Reloaded
    Loginizer
    The HostGator Plugin
    Twenty Eleven Theme Extensions
    Wordfence Security
    WP Image Zoom

    and
    Classic Editor

I have deactivated all of them except “Classic Editor”? Problem still remained -> “update” disappears.

Would it be the problem on “Classic Editor” ? I was working on it without problem, just about ONE hour before

However, with these plugins, I don’t really see any reason why that should be gone.

Just to be sure: when editing the posts, you can still see the box for publishing, but the button in it is gone? Feel free to show us a screenshot of it: https://wordpress.org/support/forum-user-guide/block-editor/#adding-screenshots

    Hi,

It is very strange to me. The Classic Editor Just worked without problem, one hour before. I haven’t added any software nor changed any settings. The right column is now completely empty without any instruction, just an empty vertical column.

How can I add screenshot here? Thanks

    I found it -> ” Update”

It is now at the bottom of the web page. I don’t know how it has been changed automatically without my notice.

Please see following link on Dropbox. I have been using Dropbox for sometimes

How to change it “Update” back to the right column of the page. Thanks

Unfortunately, your screenshot cannot be opened.

You can actually move the boxes in the classic view using drag & drop. This allows you to place them wherever you want.

    Hi,

    Sorry for that.

Now I copy the link direct on the screenshot upload to Dropbox (on their website). It can be shared. I have tested the link on another browser (Google browser) here.

    https://www.dropbox.com/preview/Screenshot%20from%202025-10-18%2022-50-29.png?context=file_uploader_preview_file&role=personal

It works without problem, not asking for login,. The screenshot can be displayed on Google browser. Please try.

Sorry I couldn’t resolve your advice.

Before, “Publish”, [Preview] and [Update] etc are displayed parallel to the webpage (2 columns, side by side]. Now they are displayed at the end/bottom of the webpage. I expect moving them back to their original place.

No, it still doesn’t work for me—I’ve tested it in several browsers, with and without Google login. I just get a message saying that the file doesn’t exist.

You can also upload screenshots elsewhere, e.g.
    https://postimages.org/
    https://imgur.com/
    https://imgbb.com/
    https://prnt.sc/

Am I right in understanding that you currently only have one column containing all the boxes? If so, go to “Screen Options” in the top right corner and change the number of columns there. You can then move the boxes back to where you want them to be.

    I have upload 2 screenshots on https://postimages.org/

    1) Update
    https://postimg.cc/xXjZ6q7W

    2) 2 columns
    https://postimg.cc/Mvm401sR

They can be browsed here without problem.

Already select 2 columns on Screen options, Webpage on left column and right column empty

Yes, very good to see. I immediately notice that you seem to be working with a zoom. The text in the menu is unnaturally enlarged. Is that intentional? Such a zoom can also cause such boxes to shift. Check your browser to see if you have set the zoom there. In most browsers, you can reset this with the key combination Ctrl and 0.

    zoom ?

I have been working on this website without problem before. Suddenly it came to this situation. I can’t explain why?

    I tried another website on the same browser and there is no such funny situation. Please see following link;

Would it be the problem of Classic Editor ?

    This is a long page;

Yes, zoom. Can’t you see that all the text is displayed larger on your screen? This is what it looks like on mine:

    View post on imgur.com

And my guess is that this is causing shifts on your screen.

Even if this doesn’t happen on other websites, it could be a reason. Because on the website in question, for example, if there is something different in the menu on the left and, above all, if it is longer than on the other website due to the zoom, the styling is already different.

I would therefore recommend resetting the zoom again.

If that doesn’t help either, deactivate all plugins again and see how it looks then.

    No.

Ctrl and shift o (capital o)

It starts another page, nothing in connection !!!

That’s the number zero aka null, not the letter O. You should also be able to find this option in your browser’s menu.
