After the most recent update, jetpack publicize stopped sharing featured image on LinkedIn. There is no issue with Twitter and Facebook, only with LinkedIn.

Looks like few others have had the same issue recently.

    Thank you for your support!

    Hello @roxchou,

I’m sorry to hear about the trouble, but thanks for reaching out.

Can you please try cycling the Linkedin connection by deactivating and reconnecting your account from Dashboard > Tools > Marketing > Connections?

Let’s see if a data refresh might help. If it doesn’t help, can you tell me more about that? Did the system return any errors or message when the post get published with no image? If you right-click and heat to Inspect, do you see any red error or message on the Console tab?

I’ll try to replicate this at my end, so the more information you can share, the better! Feel free to share the Linkedin post URL, and any screenshots if you think they can help. You can share screenshots if that helps.

You can create screenshots using something like Snipboard or Imgur and post the link here.

Let me know what you find out and thanks for sorting this out with me!

    Hi @roxchou

We have looked into this more and can confirm an issue affecting the Publicize module’s connection to LinkedIn.

We have a bug report here, and our development team will be looking into this:

    https://github.com/Automattic/wp-calypso/issues/53978

We’ll post an update as soon as we can.

Thanks again for the report and your patience as we look into this.

Good to know. Thank you for the update Bob!

Why is this marked as resolved? It’s still broken more than 20 days later.

I think Jetpack reached out to LinkedIn several times but they didn’t respond.

Bob has this issue been resolved?

    Hi @roxchou

I have reached back out to LinkedIn about this. For updates, the GitHub issue is the best place to look:

    Hi @roxchou

We have deployed an update and this should now be resolved.

@bobmatyas Firstly, awesome that you have solved the image problem.

The update, however, it seems now that it has caused all LinkedIn posts to have VISIBILITY set to CONNECTIONS instead of PUBLIC.

I raised this issue 2 1/2 years ago and it was solved then. Please see “Publicize no longer sets visibility to “Public” on LI”.

    Hi @@bobmatyas,

the issue now is that Jetpack publicize fails to automatically post on LinkedIn. Our post today was not posted automatically. We had to manually post it.

    Thank you!

@roxchou I disconnected and reconnected and the automatic publishing has been working since.

@bobmatyas The traffic to my website has increased 20% since this was fixed. Thank you!

@helijobs, thank you. Disconnecting and reconnecting did the trick.

@bobmatyas, the image is now posting but now there is an issue with the custom message. The custom message for LinkedIn is not working and instead the first 395 characters of the article is being posted. Custom message for Twitter and FB is working just fine. I’ll start a new support thread.

    Thank you!
