Used to work fine, but now a few issues:

    1. Doesn’t post the title
    2. Everything it posts is private, so only I can see it
    3. Displays the playbuzz shortcode in the post (this used to happen on Tumblr, too, but posted the problem here, and you fixed it! Thanks!).

    Thanks for any help! 😀

    Thanks for reporting these issues!

    1. Doesn’t post the title

The Post Title should appear in the post preview, and in the post content if you’ve specified a custom Publicize Message in the box appearing above the Publish button. Could you give that a try?

    2. Everything it posts is private, so only I can see it

    This should help:

    3. Displays the playbuzz shortcode in the post.

Could you post a screenshot of the issue, so I can see where the shortcode appears? You can use http://snag.gy/ to post your screenshots here.

    Thanks!

    Hi, Jeremy! Thanks for this.

The Post Title should appear in the post preview, and in the post content if you’ve specified a custom Publicize Message in the box appearing above the Publish button. Could you give that a try?

Do you mean try a custom publicize message to get it to work? If so, it used to work on G+ without this extra step, and still does on the other networks I post to.

    This should help:

    Wonderful! Thank you!

    And now for screenshots:

    As it is now: http://snag.gy/2hwUt.jpg

Post Title, as it was before (short code issue still present): http://snag.gy/5Ob2q.jpg

    Thanks, Jeremy!

The screenshots are very helpful, thank you. It looks like the post title is missing from the post preview. Jetpack doesn’t have control over that post preview I’m afraid. It’s generated by Google+ itself.

Google+ crawls the post and looks for specific meta tags that will help build a post preview.

By default schema.org meta data will be used. If you don’t use any, Google+ will fallback to Open graph Meta Tags.
Looking at your site, I see that you use both schema.org meta data and Open Graph Meta Tags. I’d recommend that you deactivate the plugin you use to generate that meta data, and see if it helps.

You can also use this Google tool to see what Google+ sees when crawling your posts:

The shortcode, on the other hand, is most likely a Publicize issue. Could you let me know if you insert anything else in the post content? Could you also let me know if entering a custom Publicize message solves the issue?

    Thanks!

That is very helpful. I’ll look into the meta data conflict further.

Outside the title, tags, category and open graph info via Yoast, The only post content is the shortcode. My next quiz is scheduled for 1:30 EST today. I’ve customized the Publicize message for you. It already had the post title there by default, so I prepended it with, “Quiz: “.

Thanks, Jeremy. Looking forward to getting this resolved.

Thanks! Could you post the Google+ link here as soon as the post gets published?

Interesting….it added the title when I edited the Publicize message. Thoughts?

Its most likely because your posts don’t include any other content. That’s definitely a bug on our end. I’ve added a link to this thread to our bug report, and I’ll get back to you as soon as we get this fixed.

Until then, I’m afraid I can only recommend that you use custom Publicize messages to work around that problem.

I understand, Jeremy. Thanks for your responsiveness. Hopefully it can be prioritized for fixing soon. Happy Easter! 😀

Hi, Jeremy. It has been a while….just following up on this. Any news? In the mean time, another thought. I remembered that I used to have the same problem with Tumblr back when Jetpack was publishing properly to Google Plus. Then Tumblr was fixed. Not sure if the Tumblr fix contributed to the Google Plus problem or not, but I hope Tumblr doesn’t break again when Google Plus is fixed. Thanks.

No news yet, but I’ll post again here as soon as we make progress on this.
