Hi, the Publicize module is posting the contents of the entire post to the Tumblr account. Is there a way to set it so that it only posts the excerpt or a shorter version?

When you publish the post, look to the right of the editor under Publicize options.

You’ll find a box to enter a custom message instead, as depicted in the screenshot at https://jetpack.com/support/publicize/#sharing-new-posts

Thanks but this doesn’t work. What it does is still publish the entire WP post onto Tumblr, and appends whatever I write into the box you mentioned.

Do you have any other suggestions?

    Hey there,

Within your dashboard, you should be able to go to Settings > Reading and set For each article in a feed, show to Summary.

I just tried this on my test site and it worked perfectly:

Hi, this didn’t help either, unfortunately. It still posts the entire post to Tumblr.

What’s the URL of the site with the problem?

    Howdy –

My next suggestion is to rule out incompatibilities. Disable all the other plugins on your site, leaving only Jetpack. Test the feed setting again with a new post.
