I updated to WP 5.0.1 and Jetpack 6.8.1. When I add images to a post using the new WP5 block editor, the Open Graph og:image tag will not use any of the images in image blocks, despite them being the correct size and attached to the post.

If I add a “classic” block with the same image, the Open Graph og:image tag will use that image. This impacts sharing, because with the new editor, the site’s default image is always used. Otherwise, publicize seems to be working correctly (pushing to social, emailing, etc).

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi –

I’d like to take a better look. Can you take a screen shot of the preview (with the wrong image)? Add it here with something like snag.gy.

Does it work as expected if Jetpack is the only plugin enabled on the site?

After more searching, I found this is a known issue. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

    Hi there,

    Good find 🙂

Looking at that ticket it looks like work on this might be waiting for a change in the block editor itself as well, but you can follow along in that issue.

As there’s nothing more we can do here right now I’m marking this thread as resolved, but please let us know if there’s anything else.
