  • Publicize used to post to Facebook with the message “___ shared a link via WordPress.com” and linked to the article.

    Now it uses the message “___ published an article on WordPress.com” (which is not what’s happening) without the link to the article.

    Can this be restored to its previous phrasing?

    Thanks for the report.

    In Jetpack 2.6 we’ve updated Publicize to send more information to Facebook. As a result, Facebook gets more data and is able to create different types of updates based on the contents of your posts (length of the description, image, videos, Post Format, …)
    These new Facebook updates present more data to your Facebook friends, but the name of the app used to post is also more prominent as you’ve realized.

    We’re aware of the problem, and are working on other possibilities to interact with Facebook while avoiding this confusing app name and link.
