  • I disabled the plugin and enabled the Jetpack Monitor. No luck. Scheduled posts still won’t publicize.

Do you have any other plugins that deal with how your WP site functions? What exactly happens after the post hits missed schedule and you go to your site? Does the post show up on your blog? Do you use any meta data plugins?

    @andrew

I must be honest and say that I’m not sure why you wanted me to look in there

Some hosting providers disable or overwrite WordPress’ default Cron system, and that is usually done via the wp-config.php file. That’s why I asked you to check there.

However, it turned out that this was done by a plugin on your site.

I just activated the monitor. So basically keeping that part of Jetpack active will be like someone looking at my site and thus it will trigger a “Missed Schedule” if that happens?

That’s correct. Every logged out visit on your site forces WordPress to check its scheduling system.

will it slow down my site at all or can it affect the cron at all negatively with this issue you are looking into already?

It won’t. All Jetpack Monitor does is visiting your site every 5 minutes. That’s done by a bot that lives on WordPress.com. As long as your site can stand one visit every 5 minutes, you should be ok!

It looks like adding in those Jetpack filters has done the trick for me. Thanks, Jeremy.

@godthor Excellent, I’m glad to hear that. We’re still working on a solution that won’t require the filters, for a future version of Jetpack.

I disabled the plugin and enabled the Jetpack Monitor. No luck. Scheduled posts still won’t publicize.

@admindroidturf Could you please start your own thread, and provide as much information as possible about your site, and about what you’ve tried:

    Thank you!

What Jetpack filters have you enabled? My plugins include All in One SE Pack, Diques Comment system, Open in new window plugin, Poll, Survey, Quiz & Form by OpinionStage,TinyMCE Spellcheck, WP Crontrol, WP Missed Schedule, and
WP Easy Paypal Payment Accept. When a post misses schedule it says ‘missed schedule by however many mins’ in WordPress and doesn’t get posted to my blog. Let me know if you need more info.

Adminroidturf, didn’t you disable WP Missed Schedule? And what is WP Crontrol? My take on all this is that anything that is in s plugin that affects the Cron since the latest Jetpsvk and WP build is going to cause problems in the scheduled postings. I deactivated everything that affects my blog postings other than Jetpack and then used the Monitor feature in Jetosvk which checks my site every five minutes acting like a user going to my site. For three days now thankfully my scheduled blog has posted correctly all social media and subscribers.

I do have a question for @jeremy, since I am now only using Jetpsvk for my meta data handling, I noticed on thrFacebook Debugger tool that I get a warning about the App ID missing. I’ve seen this now for awhile even when I was using another meta data plugin. Is this something I need to be concerned about? Everything posts fine currently but eventually will this be required and if still blank cause my post not to be put on FB? How do you add an APP ID anyway? Is there a simple way to do this and clear up that warning? Can Jetpsvk rectufy this since its handling my Meta Data now?

Here’s the plugin page. https://srd.wordpress.org/plugins/wp-crontrol/ And yes, I tried disabeling the WP Missed Schedule and nothing worked.

@andrew I believe we’ve talked about this in the past:
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/another-jetpack-facebook-sharing-issue?replies=6#post-6174859

Jetpack does not add any App ID or Author ID tags, as they are not required by Facebook.

If you’d like to add those tags anyway, you can follow the recommendations I posted here:

If you have more questions, could you please start your own thread, as this thread is now resolved:

Update: I have now lost all control. Nothing seems to be working. All posts, scheduled or not, are not being publicized via social networks even though they’re connected via Jetpack. Here’s the error message I get when I try to refresh the social connections: https://s17.postimg.org/80goclf8v/screenshot_error.png I’m on v4.2.1 please help!

I’m not sure but I think @jeremy probably can. I’m really not a big WordPress guru. Just another user trying to learn a few things here and there.

@peter Since your issue isn’t related to the Jetpack plugin, I would recommend that you post in the general WordPress support forums here:
    https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting

@admindroidturf I would need more information in order to be able to help you.

Could you please start your own thread, and provide as much information as possible about your site, your set up, what you’ve tried, and what doesn’t work:

If you want your site URL to remain private, you can also contact us via this contact form:

    Thank you!

I will now close this thread as the issue reported by the original posted is now resolved.
