I’m trying to use Publicize and Twitter on a WordPress site not hosted on WordPress.com (although I have a wordpress.com account).

Setting it up is not big deal, just kinda works. And it will work, once or so, so I wander off. However, it appears to stop working. Posts are created, and then not publicized to twitter.

When I go look at the twitter settings after a post doesn’t work, It’s not listed as connected. When I go to reconnext it, I get this message: “Failed fetching site data from WordPress.com (http_request_failed). If the problem persists, try reconnecting Jetpack.” If I refresh that page, it shows as connected. But it won’t stay that way?

Hi there,

I checked your Twitter Publicize connection and it works without any issues. If you’re still having trouble with it please re-connect Jetpack by following these instructions:

While I appreciate that you think it works, I respectfully disagree. I have a post on 10/22 at 10:30 am (which I believe is after your post) that didn’t go to twitter.

I have disconnected and reconnected, but as I’ve done that before, I don’t anticipate that correcting anything. I will wait for the next post and see.

Yup, still not working.

Twitter is showing as connected under Jetpack, but it’s not posting to Twitter.

I’ve made one change to see if it makes things better – enabling “Connection available to all administrators, editors, and authors” (an option I don’t recall previously).

Please disconnect Twitter and re-connect it again by following these step-by-step instructions:
