I have a publication based on a view. If I enable ‘Add Search Panes’ and select two columns then save changes the serach panes do not display on the front end. Instead I get a message displayed “No Search Panes”.

I am using the following settings for this publication :
No search condition = show no rows is enabled
Allow column specific search is disabled – even when I enable this setting I still do not get the search panes displayed

The two columns within the view selected as the search panes are concatenated from two fields from the original database table.

Using version 5.1.8 of the plug in.

    Thanks
    Mark

    Hi Mark,

    The problem is this option:
No search condition = show no rows

Search panes are meant to filter your table data. If your table is empty, there is nothing to filter. When the plugin builds the table on page load and the table is empty, there are no search panes to build.

Please consider using the Search Builder, a custom search form or individual column search if you want to start with an empty table. If you prefer to use Search Panes, just disable the “No search condition = show no rows” option.

    Does this help?

    Best regards,
    Peter

Thanks Peter, makes sense. I will play around with the search builder option and go from there.

    Cheers
