• Hi after installation of plugin, the normal Prompt for a password protected post shows up at the top above the login/registration pages.

    ie:
“This content is password protected. To view it please enter your password below:” followed by the field to enter this.

    Then as expected:

“This content is restricted to registered members. If you are an existing user, please log in. New users may register below.”
    Existing Users Login
    New Users Registration.

Any ideas how to not have the password protected bit showing up? It is confusing and unnecessary. I’ve tried a completely new post with next to nothing in it, made sure it was public then blocked using the plugin settings and this behaviour is seen. Is it a function of how this plugin works?

In order to *fix* this behaviour we have had to turn of *show exerpts which isn’t a viable solution. After ruling out the theme we are using as well I’ve gone through and deactivated all the plugins one by one. The only thing that changed anything (though not this specifically) was yoasts seo plugin. Keeping looking for now.

Further testing the issue seems to defintely be a conflict between wp-members and yoasts SEO plugins. Could be a problem either end. Most annoying. Guess it may be something you guys might want to take a look at since its a common enough plugin.

The issue you described occurs occasionally in some themes based on the way WP-Members unloads the comments by spoofing a post password (hence the default WP dialog prompting for a post password).

I’ve been working on a complete change in this that will be included in an upcoming update once I’ve worked out potential issues, but until then, there is an easy fix to the issue with the wpmem_post_password filter hook. The hook documentation has a description of the issue and an explanation of the workaround.
