# Providing code examples

 * How do you post examples of code in a post here without it getting all bent out
   of shape and garbled – I tried to post a code example once and it ended up looking
   real strange and made no sense at all
 * It was kinda embarassing – LOL

 * Do I use the code tag at the bottom like this:
 * ` example `
 * Or do I use the backticks like this:
 * `example`
 * Or do I put “code” in between backticks like this:
 * `<code> example </code>`

 * Ok – now I know
 * In the 1st example, I used just the code tags
 * In the 2nd example, I used just the backticks
 * Looks like the 3rd example is the way to go – where you put the tags inside of
   backticks so that the tags show up in the post
 * Just one question – do you put backticks before and after each tag in the example
   or just one set of backticks before and after the entire code example
