Support » Plugin: Loco Translate » Protect Translation from Updates

  • Hello, i’m trying to protect my translation in a certain plugin (Masterstudy LMS) from beeing overwritten by certain future updates. In the Loco Translate explainations i read that “Loco Translate provides a “safe” directory at the custom location “wp-content/languages/loco”.”. I must admit that i am neither a developer, nor an english native speaker. What is meant by “provide”? Generally i assume that i should create this folder. Is that right? Thank you in advance.

    Regards, Harry

    What is meant by “provide”?

It means (1) that the editor offers you to save new PO files at this custom location, and (2) filters MO file loading such that custom translations are merged on top of installed ones.

See the manual section for choosing a file location:

Yes. You should create this folder on your server.
