 * After figuring out I was getting the 404 error because “content” or “fanfic”
   needed to trail index.php I get the archive page, but I don’t get any search
   options. On the archive page and the profile page, content is displayed by the
   chapters, which can be daunting when navigating books with over 50 chapters.
   Is there a way to sort or display by the book? And get the search page to display
   properly

 * I’m not sure what you mean by “needed to trail index.php”
 * If you selected
    fanfic for your content, then the archive will be at [http://yoursite.com/fanfic](http://yoursite.com/fanfic)
 * Is that not the case for your archive? If not, can you share the url please?
   If you don’t want to share it here, please email to hi <at> wpwriteshare.com
 * Example: [http://fanfic.wpwriteshare.com/fanfic/](http://fanfic.wpwriteshare.com/fanfic/)
   (
   note, we are using the subdomamain fanfic before wpwriteshare.com – don’t confuse
   the two… it’s the second fanfic that indicates the content and archive).
 * At this time, each chapter posts as if a new entry. We do have on the list for
   future development for each new chapter to simply display as an update to existing
   book. I do not have an ETA on that at this time, but it will happen at some point.

 * WordPress installation is in a sub-directory, not in the URL root. This is causing
   the problem with navigation. It needs to be installed at the domain root.

 * Thank you for quick response and support. I will do a fresh install on a subdomain
   as I’m still testing things out as far as plugins and themes.

 * I did an install on the subdomain and the problem was still happening. Thought
   I’d follow up because I did manage to find a solution on my own. The index.php
   was being added in the url under Settings –> Permalinks –> Custom Structure.
   I just removed the index.php and it works under both subdomain and subfolder.
 * But the problem with the results being displayed by chapters instead of by books
   is a major sticking point, and I hope that is a priority in the updates soon.
   It’s really close to being a perfect solution to adding original works on the
   site
