• I really like the concept behind this plugin – it’s one of the few CAPTCHA options that’s GDPR-friendly, self-hosted, and open source, which is great to see.

Unfortunately, I ran into issues using it in my setup. Adding the CAPTCHA to the WordPress login kept showing an error saying I couldn’t be verified as human, even when everything appeared to be filled in correctly. This may have been LiteSpeed Cache related, but I couldn’t find clear documentation to help troubleshoot.

I also tested it with Formidable Forms via shortcode and enabled the SaaS spam check, but saw a noticeable increase in spam instead of a reduction.

I’ve switched back to Turnstile for now, but I’ll definitely keep an eye on Altcha’s development. It’s a promising tool with the right intentions – just didn’t quite work for my stack at this stage.
