• This looks very promising and useful, however it misses any Facebook oEmbed which is placed by the Jetpack plug-in.

Given that Jetpack does not have an option to selectively disable the embeds, it would be really helpful if Embed Privacy supported those as well.

    Hi there!

Did you try adding a custom embed provider in Settings > Embed Privacy > Manage embed providers with the regex /facebook\.com/?

Thank you for your answer. I don’t understand, Facebook was already present in the Embed Privacy options with the same regex.

But I tried to create a new one, nevertheless. It did something, but it actually borked the HTML code of my page:

You can see the original article here (I have now disabled the custom embed I created previously):

Thank you, I will take a look into it!

A quick notice though: It would be great to see something like this as support thread beforehand, so that we can react before getting a worse review than five stars, because this is our demand on ourselves. 🤗

I just released version 1.4.4 that includes a fix for Jetpack’s Facebook embed.

I am sorry, it was not meant to be a negative review. In my view 4/5 was a positive one (rating as a bit less than perfect).

Thank you for updating the code in order to block Jetpack embeds. It seems that the plug-in now blocks the content, however it is not unblocked after clicking the black box.

I am not sure whether it has to do with the caching plug-in (WP Super Cache) or not. All other embeds work perfectly.

For now I resorted to remove all FB embeds from my site and replacing them with blockquotes, there were only four so luckily it was a quick job.

Sorry for my late answer. I had this on my list for so long but since it’s kind of complex, I always moved the task aways – especially since you don’t use these embeds anymore.

Of course 4/5 stars are positive. Unfortunately, that’s not what I intend to provide. 😄

I just improved the fix to load all necessary JavaScript while enabling this particular Facebook embed of Jetpack. Please feel free to test it again, maybe it makes the plugin “perfect” for you even though you’re not using these types of embeds anymore (which I would also recommend).

    Best regards,

    Matthias

Thank you for your feedback. I don’t have interest for re-adding Facebook embeds, but I did change the rating to 5 a few weeks ago.

    I appreciate that! 🙏🏻
