Can you please share a screen of what you see so that it’s easier to understand the issue? Does the uploaded image gets saved in the profile once you update the profile?

Thank you for your inputs.
The problem is solved.
The issue was that there were other profile fields that needed to be completed.
When those fields were completed the request for uploading an image was solved (although it was confusing).

When updating/editing a complete profile the system still asks for uploading the picture again.
Here is the screenshot. The text in red is in Spanish:
