I am setting up Ultimate product catalog and I am finding all of my products are showing up twice. As first I thought it was something to do with sub-categories but then I notices that I have some products that don’t have subs and are in categories that don’t have any subs below them.

Possibly related is that if no categories are selected and all my products show up, they are again doubled. They show up once in the category and then below all the products showing up in each category I get a full dump listing of all my products again.

Very messy as I have 1200 items to add and doubling them will make the catalog clumsy looking.

Any help appreciated. I am sure I am simply doing something wrong.

  • Hello Kevin,

Could you please share the link to the product catalogue page where we can see this issue?
Also, what is the shortcode that you are using to display this catalogue.
We have had customers tell us that using infinite scroll does sometimes conflict with the other plugins they have which shows their catalogue twice. Do you have infinite scroll on?

    Best regards,

The site is http://www.vinylwalldecals.org on the products page. If you look at the categories on the side bar for example it shows 10 motivational and 6 scripture products. But those numbers are doubled. When you click on a category it will show each wall art twice.

Some of the scripture wall decals have a sub category but none of the motivational ones do at this point.

I am not familiar with “infinite scroll”. I haven’t changed any options other than to make sure that when an item is clicked on it opens a new tab to go to the other site.

This is the code on my page…

    [product-catalogue id=’2′]

Thanks so much for any help you can offer

I am having the exact same problem on all of my catalogue pages as well. Guessing this may be something more widespread opposed to a coincidence?

Here is one of the urls in question (all other category URLs are also doing the same)
    https://www.wickstromphc.com/furnace-products/gas-90/

The shortcode on this page is [product-catalogue id=’2′] same as @kevdogg

Of course the other pages have different id’s in the shortcode and behave the same way.

Any help you guys can offer or if you see a fix that needs pushed that would be an immense help!

    Thanks,
    Levi

P.S. This URL may be better for testing since you can easily see the duplicate catalogue.

    https://www.wickstromphc.com/furnace-products/

The top catalogue looks to load right away.. then the duplicate below it will say “Updating Results” a couple of seconds later and load in the duplicate content. Hope this helps!

    Hi @kevdogg / @leviedwards ,

If you go to Options -> Premium and scroll down to “Infinite Scroll”, what is it set to? Note: If it’s set to Yes, set it to No to disable it

@etoilewebdesign Thank you for looking into this! I have set “Infinite Scroll” to No and the problem has gone away. I really appreciate the time you took to provide us with a remedy!

    Have a marvelous day!

    Thanks,
    Levi

    Hi Levi,

Glad to hear it worked! 😀

Well, I am happy it worked for Levi but my infinite scroll was already set to no. Just for fun I thought maybe if I turned it on and then off it would fix itself but I can’t turn it on. I can hit the button and switch it but when I save and check it has reverted back to being off.

Is this a premium only thing? I am reluctant to go to premium with any of the catalog plug ins I see because none will say that they will do what I want. This plug in was the closest I could find as I could at least do a work around by making several catalogs.

I am happy to pay for any plug in and if it will do what I need I would gladly pay double for it. But I have bought too many plug ins that make promises and don’t work and I am simply out the money.

My needs are pretty simple in my mind. I simply want to be able to assign a product into multiple categories. Example, a unisex shirt should show up in mens and womens sections and maybe in a best sellers sections. That would be my ideal. If I have to make a new product for each category I am going to more than double 1000+ products.

    Hi kev,

Products can only be assigned to one category and one sub-category. For assigning to multiple, we’d suggest using tags or custom fields. Those features are only available in the premium version, however. If it’s something you’re interested in, you could activate a free 7-day trial of the premium version with the code “EWD Trial”.

On your catalog page (http://vinylwalldecals.org/install-tips), the “duplicate” products are showing in different categories. Since there is no functionality to add one product to multiple categories, that would lead me to believe that you’ve created two versions of the same product and added one to one category and one to another category. If you do that and then put both of those categories in your catalog, then it will indeed show both of those versions of the product in the catalog.

    Hi,

I have the same exact problem, but it will only appear if I use the search feature of Ultimate Product Catalog. Products appear twice when I search, even if I already added it once.

    Infinite scroll is already disabled.

    Example:
    http://www.powerplantmall.com/shops/

Try searching for 7, 7 eleven will appear twice:

Nevermind, I was able to trace and fix the issue. 😀

Jehzlau, what was your fix for this issue? My site is doing the same thing. https://airpro.net/test/?categories=2

I figured it out, too. The issue was that I had added both items and categories to my catalog. Once I deleted the individual items from the catalog settings, it was fine.

    Here is the solution,
Once you create the category, don’t select them from the menu of products when building your catalog. Only select the category. You already selected where the product was going when you created your product, when you chose the category in the drop down menu. That was sufficient. Just choose form the category menu when building the catalog. and it will automatically populate with the products. I hope I made sense.

By clicking on any product links, duplicate page is shown under the same page by scrolling it down.
Please check my site and click on any link you will notice the double page.
    papdeal.com

    Or https://papdeal.com/product-category/watches/men-watches/ (for example)
    Please give the solution…

    Hi @pankajbg44 ,

We took a look at the link you sent and it appears that your site isn’t using our “Product Catalogue” plugin.

If you only have Woocommerce installed, you may want to ask the users over at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce to see if anyone can help.
