    I’m currently having issues with the cart on my site. After adding items, the cart doesn’t always show the contents of the order, usually upon refreshing the page they disappear. I’ve tried clearing cache, disabling plugins and theme, and testing on a staging server. please advise.

  • Hi Andrew. I don’t know if this is good or bad news but I clicked all over your site, loaded the cart, removed products from the cart, reloaded it, shift-reloaded for a non-cache load, and I can’t cause the cart to disappear.

    I’m on Chrome/Windows. (and have ad blockers blocking your google ad scripts)

    thanks for your response, unfortunately forgot to clarify that this issue happens more on Edge and Safari, Chrome usually works fine.

    also a note that we have set up a staging server where everything functions accordingly.

    Hi there!

    In the majority of cases, issues with items not being added or disappearing from the Cart are related to caching on the server (rather than browser caching). For example, they might seem to add correctly at first, but then after refreshing the page, they disappear because a cached version of the page was loaded from the server.

    Also, you mentioned that things work fine on the staging site — in most cases, server caching will be disabled for staging sites, so that also makes sense.

    Please ensure that the Cart, Checkout, and My Account pages are all being excluded from caching both at the server-level and in any caching/optimization plugins you have active on the site. I would recommend reaching out to your hosting company to ensure caching on the server is disabled for those pages.
