• The plugin works very well when we use specific products. It is being used on a site where people take a course (product A) and then are allowed to buy videos (product B).
In product B we set up that they can use EITHER and they must have Product A in the cart or have bought it. Initially we set up Product A as the dependency. This worked fine. We then used Product A category instead as there will be a new Product A category product each week and want this to be automated.
The issue is with the category setting I can add both A & B to the cart but it does not recognize the OWNER part just PURCHASE. This could be okay if the clients buy both at same time but we are finding that clients are coming back later to get Product B.

The example page has the products set to category dependencies.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hey John,

    Thanks for reaching out!

In order for the Ownership (or Either) dependency to evaluate correctly, you need to:

    • purchase a product from the specific Product A category and,
    • make sure that the order containing this product is either ‘Processing’ or ‘Completed’: https://cl.ly/4dca3a11a598

Could you please double-check the status of your order and let us know what you see?

    Cheers,
    Jason

    Hi,
The Product A was in completed status when trying the Owner testing with category dependency. I have tried testing it again and it still had the same result. I am waiting on time approval to set up a clean site to test it again without all the other plugins to see if there is a conflict. I have tested it with non-WooCommerce plugins disabled but not a standard WP theme.

    Hey John,

We tried all the possible cases with both Simple and Variable Products but we couldn’t replicated this issue locally.

Moreover, we haven’t received any similar reports in the past — we also use a number of real-world test cases in day-to-day development workflow and haven’t noticed anything similar.

Please let us know if the issue persists in a website with all other plugins except for WooCommerce and WooCommerce Product Dependencies deactivated and Storefront as the active theme.

    Cheers,
