Products belonging to several categories

    Hi

    I am testing your plugin for one of my customer.

    Maybe I have setup something wrong

    Products belonging to categories Cat1, Cat2 and Cat3 for example. Cat1, Cat2 and Cat3 are NOT nested categories.

    I setup a filter with Cat1.

    In the filter on front end, Cat1, Cat2 and Cat3 appear, which a bit strange for me, as I have chosen Cat1.

    It seems that the categories that appear in the filter on front end are the one that I have selected in back end + all the categories who are also a category for products in Cat1.

    Any hint?

    Hello,

    It seems you mean option “Limit filter values by products from the selected category”, but it is not option to display child categories.

    Free version of plugin do not have option to display only child categories for selected category.
    Only paid version has option “Display only child of” to display child categories for selected category or child categories for current category page.

    The category setup in the filter is “Tissus”.

    It is OK, of course that Tissus category and its child categories appear, but I cannot understand why all other categories appear.

    These extra non wanted categories are categories of products that belongs also to Tissus category. On this sandbox websites, there are many other categories that do not appear. Only appear categories that have common products with Tissus category.

    What do you mean with The category setup in the filter is “Tissus”.?
    Where did you setuped category “Tissus”?

    Hello,

    “Limit filter values by products from the selected category” is not option to display child categories, it is limit values inside filter based on products from category that you selected.
    If products has multiple categories(from other parent category too), then it will be displayed.

    Only paid version has option “Display only child of” to display child categories for selected category or child categories for current category page.

    When you setup a filter with “Limit filter values by products from the selected category” and the values of the filter are others than the one you selected, then I call this a bug or a defective design.

    It means that the categories shown in the filter are not the one you have chosen in the filter design but all the categories of the products that are part of the chosen category.
    Weird.

    Hello,

    Option is say exactly what it does “Limit filter values by products from the selected category”
    It is limit values by PRODUCTS from category. It means if one of the product from this selected category has values, then it will be displayed in filter.

    It is option not only for category filter it an be used for any other attributes filter too.
