Hi, hopefully someone can help!
I’m setting up a store, but am stuck with trying to find the best solution for variable products and stock management. For example, my store sells art prints and posters so I need to show options for poster colour and frame colour.
Using standard Woocommerce variations, the main product image changes depending on the options selected by the customer, which is great because they can see exactly what they are buying – want to see a yellow poster with white frame? – no problem. Want to see how it looks with a black frame instead? Easy, just change the frame option and the main product image changes.
The problem is that I need to manage stock independently for each poster design by colour at a product level, and frames by colour across the whole store. eg. 15 red apple posters in stock, 20 white frames. Using standard variations, I have to set stock levels for each possible variation (eg. red apple poster with white frame x 5, red apple poster with black frame x 4, red apple poster with no frame x 6 etc.). That would be a nightmare to manage, so not an option.
I’ve purchased the Product Bundles plugin, which is perfect for independent stock management, but it doesn’t allow me to show one main image which changes dependent on the options selected by the customer. You have to show two separate images – one for poster colour, and one for frame colour. It’s a compromise, but doesn’t help the customer see exactly what they are buying, so not as good for selling.
Ideally, I need one main product image that changes depending on the options selected by the customer (like the standard variations facility), with stock management (like Product Bundles plugin).
Is this possible, or can someone suggest a better solution please?
Thanks in advance
