    Anybody out there know where I can find a simple slider just to move some thumbnails that is free and easy to install and works. My t-shirts are all over the page in rows. I tried many plug ins but they don’t explain where to put the short code as I have put many short codes from these plugins in pages but nothing happens. If not is there any setting in the gallery on a woo site that you can adjust to add more images in a row that slide. Seems only 3 work on the site.

    Thanks
    Leroy

    Hi @leroytuttle

    a simple slider just to move some thumbnails

    I’m not sure if I understand the requirement correctly – by sliding thumbnails are you referring to a carousel?

    I tried many plug ins but they don’t explain where to put the short code as I have put many short codes from these plugins in pages but nothing happens.

    May I know which plugins you tried? That may give an idea about the requirement.

    My t-shirts are all over the page in rows. … is there any setting in the gallery on a woo site that you can adjust to add more images in a row that slide. Seems only 3 work on the site.

    This article shows multiple ways to add more images in a row than 3:

    If this doesn’t answer your query, kindly elaborate a bit for better understanding. If you could share a screenshot, that would be helpful.

    * We recommend https://snipboard.io for easily sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on that page, then paste the URL in this thread.

    Additionally, in order to check your configuration, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    Thanks

    Hi Margret,
    I’m referring to the gallery provided in products. The link you refer to is adding your products in rows on the front page done in customize. I’m talking about Products-add new-set product image-add product gallery images-is what I’m referring to, my product gallery slides 3 images, if I add more images they come out in rows on my product page. It slides 3 then stops. I found woo wants to charge you for a plugin if you want it done correctly. Most free versions of plugins that do horizontal sliding do nothing when adding any shortcodes. As most of these carousel ones don’t work unless you go pro.I just added product gallery slider for woo which is in my plugin activated that’s it, there’s no setting on it, the directions say to Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress which I did the only option I have it deactivation. If I’m no understanding something please let me know. It seems like you have to know CSS coding to use these.

    add_filter( 'woocommerce_get_image_size_gallery_thumbnail', function( $size ) {
    return array(
    'width' => 150,
    'height' => 150,
    'crop' => 0,
    );
    } );

    Thanks

    Hi @leroytuttle

    The product galleries styles and sliding animation can depend on which theme you’re using, and it might be changed by additional plugins that you have installed as well.

    For reference, see below an example of how the product’s gallery should look like on a clean WooCommerce site with no additional plugins and with the default Storefront theme installed:

    Captura-de-tela-de-2022-04-21-18-35-31.png

    On a clean installation like the one above, clicking any of the thumbnails will slide the gallery without issues.

    If you’re having issues with your product’s gallery, I recommend performing this test to find out where the problem is coming from:

    * Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    * Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce

    If you don’t see the issue after completing this test, then you know this was coming from the plugins or the theme that you deactivated.
    Next, reactivate the theme and plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict.
    You can find a more detailed explanation of this test here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/.

    Hi Berg,
    I kinda figured it had to do with themes. Unfortunately now I have a bigger problem. So I uploaded a plugin slider from woo earlier today, and there were no ways to set it. I went on the support forum and some kid said add this code to your functions.php which I did.
    It made my site look terrible, I took out the code and hit update and now the theme is completely ruined. The functions page in the theme editor still acts like the code is in there. I deleted the theme and went to another store theme and it was fine. However, the current theme that got messed up remains the same. If I try and activate it again the same issue returns even though the code is not in the functions page anymore. This theme works perfect for my site so I’ kinda bummed. Any suggestions would help
    Thanks

    Hi @leroytuttle

    I’d suggest that you re-install the theme, disable all plugins and clear all site caching, and only then check if the error ceases.
    I should also note that it is not recommended to edit themes’ codes directly. Instead, you must always use child themes:
    https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/advanced-topics/child-themes/

    That said, please note that this forum is intended to provide support for the default functionality of the WooCommerce core plugin, and guidance on custom code and third-party themes falls outside our scope of support.

    If the error persists, you will want to contact your theme’s support.

    I hope that helps. Feel free to contact us back if you have any other questions about the WooCommerce core plugin.
