Product short description favored over main description by Yoast?

    When entering text in the WooCommerce product main description and short description boxes, I noticed that Yoast uses the short description for the Google search results snippet.

    The long description is exactly that — a description of the product, while my short description is typically bullet points/specs/stats which do not look great in the snippet.

    Wouldn’t it make more sense for Yoast to use the main description box content?

    If left empty, Yoast SEO will pick the meta description from the first words in your product’s short description. That is because the short description is closer to what the meta description is, a short paragraph which briefly describes the product.

    However, for best results, we recommend manually creating a meta description for each of your products. If you need help on setting them, we recommend checking out this guide.
