Any help or advice with the following would be most appreciated.
I have recently created a woocommerce site. I have submitted a sitemap to Google which has been processed and the 6 URLS indexed successfully according to Webmaster tools (homepage plus 5 product pages). In the sitemap.xml file I had the priority of the homepage URL set slightly lower than those for the product pages (0.8 vs 1.0)
When I search for any of my products in Google it is the homepage that is listed in the search results and not the product specific page which is neither what I expected nor what I hoped for.
I have an SEO plugin installed but do not have noindex checked for the products.
The homepage is a relevant result for my searches as (with only five products) each is mentioned (twice). However I expected the corresponding product page to feature in the results as a more relevant result.
No product related search term I've tried (so far) will yield one of the product specific pages but a 'site:' search does; which confirms that they are in fact indexed.
I'm new to this and would be grateful of any assistance.
Thanks in advance.
