• When I import via the expensive, buggy & poorly supported Product Importer Deluxe into WPEC there is a problem (one of many I’ve encountered along the way.)

    If I import products via a spread sheet, mostly they import correctly.
    However, if I then change the spread sheet (specifically the categories in this case) then re-import to ‘merge changes to existing product’ the new categories are created but the respective products are not associated with them (the new categories all have 0 content)

    If I delete all existing categories & try again, still no content.

    The only solution I have found is to totally delete all respective products & categories & upload everything again, which works: creates the new categories & populates them with the respective products.

    I’ve actually found this with other changes to the spreadsheet. The only way to make them update is to delete the original product(s)

    Any ideas? Is this a WPEC problem or a Michael at Visser Labs problem?

  • Sounds like a plugin problem. Personally I create the categories first then upload on a spreadsheet to category basis one at a time. Slightly more laborious but it works.
