Support » Plugin: WooCommerce » Product Image Thumbnails

  • I’m having a very difficult time with how images show up on my product pages. When I upload an image, it shows up as a thumbnail under the main “Featured Image”. What I don’t want is a duplicate image to show up in the description. I noticed when I delete images from the “Product Short Description”, it removes the images from the description and keeps the image thumbnails under the featured image. This is great except for the fact when I want to remove particular thumbnails in the future. It seems nearly impossible, unless I remove the product completely and add a new product. If an experienced web guy like myself is having trouble, then I could see my clients having an even more difficult time with this.

Is there something I am missing here? I just want to be sure I am going about it the correct way when adding new product images. Honestly, it would be more sufficient if there were a completely separate tab for adding new images, apart from the content itself.

  • Okay I found the “Exclude Image” option on the Media page. It just seems a little tedious to have to upload your images and then delete them, but they still show up as thumbnails on that page. I think this may have something to do with the WordPress core, and not WooCommerce. Even with WordPress 3.5, you’re not able to “unattach” images from pages.

Found probably the most useful plugin ever to unattach images from pages!

Why is this not built into the WordPress core!?
