• I want to have unified product image sizes in the galleries that automatically appear under each product category and subcategory. I tried to change the image size before uploading to the media library; but, it did not help. I also tried to resize the image in the library itself (using the image edit option); that didn’t work either. Does anybody know how I can control the image size when they appear on the website in WP? I use Virtue theme if it does anything to do with it.

    Thanks

  • After you have uploaded an image, or resized it in the media library, WooCommerce will make three thumbnails from it to the sizes set at Admin page > WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Display. The “Catalog images” are relevant to your question. This is the thumbnail that is sent to the user’s browser. If changing these settings, you will need to regenerate existing thumbnails:

However, the size at which this image is displayed is set by the theme’s stylesheet, and some modification is possible using custom css. For help with this, please post the url to a relevant page.

Ideally, the thumbnail size should be around the size at which its displayed by your theme, and the original image should be the same or bigger.
