Support » Plugin: WooCommerce » Product image

  • Hello everyone, quick and easy question lets say.

All of my photos are 1000×750 size and now I have a problem on my product page where my product single images are, the photo is a bit big and it doesn’t fit the square for the photo. How can I resize or lets say increase the resolution for that square where the photo should be placed? Main image width is set to 1000 and it doesn’t change anything when I change the number.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi there,

You can make changes to the dimensions of the photo of product images by going to Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce > Product Images and make changes to the image size. If your theme won’t support this, we can also make this possible by adding some custom CSS. Can you please share the link to your shop page so that we can check this and help you with this?

    Thanks.

I can share a link but in private message if possible.

    Hi @paskoberisic,

There’s not a method to do private messages in this forum, unfortunately. We’d be happy to look. Is there any way you could share the link perhaps by a redirect. Then remove the redirect after we take a look.

    Thanks,

Take a Look at some older photos, let’s say page 10 and forward. You will see there is missing a small piece of shoe.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi there,

Thanks for the link. I can see that some of your product images have the toe cut out of the product image displayed. The problem is that your images are 1000 x 750 pixels, as you’ve mentioned, but your product image settings look to be cropping them into a square image format. If your images were 1000 x 1000 or 750 x 750, no cropping or loss of image would result when the shop images are then displayed in a 1:1 aspect ratio (square). However, because your images were uploaded in a format which is wider than it is tall, the square format you’ve chosen will tend to cut some of your image when it’s re-formatted into a 1:1 aspect ratio (square).

To fix this, here are a couple of suggestions:

    * Edit your original images and re-upload in a square format if that’s how you’d like then to display. It’s recommended to upload images 800 x 800 pixels minimum for best results.
    * Choose a different setting for Thumbnail Cropping at Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce > Product Images. It appears that you’ve chosen the 1:1 square setting currently, but you can see if a custom ration like 4:3 works instead.

Note that your theme may dictate the settings available in the Customizer as mentioned above. If this is the case, you may need to edit and re-upload your original images in the aspect ratio required to display correctly, in this case it appears to be square or 1:1.
