Product data randomly changing on its own

All my products are Simple Products, but on the edit screen, most show up as Grouped Products. I change them back to Simple but after updating, they revert to Grouped.

Sometimes the price is dispayed on the front end, but sometimes there’s no price, just a blank.

Also, one product (so far!) has changed to Out of Stock on its own.

Please help; these problems cause lost sales.

Hi

Most of the times errors are caused by a plugins conflicting with each other, your theme, or the WordPress core. Deactivating all WordPress plugins on your site will most likely solve the problem. You can then find out which plugin was causing the issue by activating plugins one by one on your site.

Hi @arielsfr,

I’ve seen instances of this happening when content in the _posts table is removed. Then WordPress starts reusing post IDs. That gets connected to old data in the _postmeta table causing the wrong information to appear.

Has the site ever had sections of the database “cleared” or “optimized?”

Hi @three Sons,

Thank you for the info!

I may have cleared or optimized the database, but that would’ve been a long time ago.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? I don’t mind digging into the database with phpMyAdmin or other tools. Thank you for any info or advice!

I want to leave disabling plugins for last, in case someone has had the same problem and found a solution. Fingers crossed!

Hi @arielsfr,

I have one more thing you can try that may help. Go to WooCommerce > Status > Tools and use the tool here to regenerate the product lookup tables. There’s a chance that could help this and it’s less invasive than a plugin conflict test.
