Product conflict with Storefront Theme
-
Since updating WooCommerce to the latest version (10.3.6), I now have a conflict with a few products using the Storefront Theme. To ensure that it is a conflict with Storefront, I disabled all unnecessary plug-ins along with Storefront and switched over to the Twenty Twenty-One Theme, and it worked fine. I then switched it over to the Twenty Twenty-Five Theme and it worked as well. I’m reaching out to see if I could get some help to resolve. I will post my system report in the next message.

### Status report information ###
Generated at: 2025-12-05 10:23:21 -05:00Hi there!
Thank you for reaching out, and I completely understand your concern.
If the issue appears only when the Storefront theme is active, we’ll be happy to help investigate this further. To better understand what’s happening, could you please share:
- A brief description of the exact issue you’re seeing with the affected products (e.g., layout changes, errors, styling issues, missing elements, etc.)
- System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status
Please use https://pastebin.com/ or https://gist.github.com/ and share a link to that paste in reply here. Once we have more information, we’ll be able to assist you further.
Thanks Shahzeen,
- System report – I posted a system report already, buts its being held for moderation.
Exact issue – I am no longer unable to Preview the product from the backend (never loads) and if I select it as a customer from the frontend, it never loads. Here is an example of what eventually transpires from trying to load as a customer on the front end,
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator at webmaster@xxxxx.com to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
I’m not sure of where to go to see where this error is occurring. Any guidance would be appreciated.
Hi there,
Thank you for the update. I’m currently using the Storefront theme on my own test site, and I’m not able to replicate the issue on my end.
Since you mentioned that the error appears only on a few specific products, I’d like to gather a bit more information to help pinpoint the cause:
- Is there anything common about the products where the issue occurs?
- Are you using any custom shortcodes, custom templates, or custom code related to those products?
To investigate further, could you please share your System Status Report and Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs using one of the following services and share the link in your reply:
Once I have that information, I’ll be able to look into this more closely for you.
Hi there!
This is a follow-up message. I can see that the System Status Report is now being published. I’ve checked it, and everything appears to be fine. However, I notice that you have a large number of active plugins. You mentioned that you have deactivated unnecessary plugins, could you please confirm if you still face the same issue when all plugins except WooCommerce and Storefront are deactivated?
Could you also create a staging site, deactivate all plugins on the staging site except WooCommerce, and see if the issue still occurs? You can use the following plugin to create a staging site:WP Staging
If you still encounter the same issue on the staging site, please check the browser console when the error appears and let us know if you see any errors there. You can access the browser console by pressing F12 (or right-click → Inspect → Console tab) in most browsers.
Once we have all the information requested in our previous response and in this message, we will be able to assist you further.Yes. I can confirm that the issue still occurs when “ALL” plugins are deactivated except for WooCommerce and Storefront. This was the first troubleshooting I performed to determine it was a Theme conflict.
Hi there!
Thank you for confirming. Could you please also share these details?- Is there anything common about the products where the issue occurs?
- Can you please share any fatal error logs (if available) under WooCommerce → Status → Logs?
- Additionally, could you create a staging site, deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce, and share the product page link where the issue is occurring on the frontend too? This will help us investigate the issue more effectively.
Hello,
- Anything common,
The products are all simple products. I created a new product while all plugins were shut off and I’m still having the issue. While all plugins are still “off”, I then switched the theme to Twenty Twenty-One and the products loaded w/o issue.
- Fatal Error from WooCommerce,
There are no fatal error logs to share
- Staging site,
Any suggestions as to what I should use to do this?
I appreciate you taking the time to help.
Hi @rippleffect,
You’ve raised an important detail earlier about the internal server error that appears when trying to preview or load certain products, and this gives us a useful direction to investigate. An internal server error typically indicates that something on the server side is preventing the request from completing. It is a general error message, so seeing exactly how it appears on your screen will help us identify what might be triggering it.
Please share a screenshot of the full error page, including the browser URL bar, so we can review it in context. You can upload it through https://snipboard.io and share the link here.
Regarding the staging site, the purpose of creating one is to test whether the same issue occurs in a clean and isolated environment. After you set up the staging site, activate only WooCommerce and Storefront, then try opening the affected product there. This will help confirm whether the conflict is theme related or tied to something else in the live environment.
Once you share the screenshot and complete the staging test, we’ll be able to move forward with deeper troubleshooting.
I’m seeing the same issue with Woocommerce, Storefront and WP 6.9. Changing to theme twenty twenty five and the issue goes away. This has only become an issue since upgrading to WP 6.9.

Hi @richardpo ,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I understand that issues like this can be concerning and frustrating, especially when your website’s customization relies heavily on the Storefront theme.
To help keep the forum organized and track issues efficiently, please create a new topic explaining the issue you’re experiencing. This will allow us to provide more tailored assistance, as each setup can be different. Please note that cross-posting is against the forum guidelines.
Seeing that others (@travelavenger, @richardpo, @coachmjp) are/were having the same issues, is there a timeline as to when the theme will be looked at by the developers as to fix the current compatibility issues with WordPress v6.9? I see that @travelavenger was able to supply a fix on his end. Unfortunately, I don’t feel comfortable applying core fixes myself.
As to understand, I did try the above recommendations that were suggested.
Staging Site – I ended up using the WPvivid plugin for this task. After creating the staging site, I disabled all plugins except for Woocommerce and still had the same issue (certain products not loading). While on the staging, I switched over to the twenty twenty-one theme and again, problem was fixed.
Note: For others who read this thread, I first tried the WP Staging plugin as suggested. Unfortunately, (in my instance), the WP Staging plugin did not work properly.
I also read in @richardpo post that he was using CloudFlare CDN. I took the liberty of disabling/ removed Cloudflare. Meaning, Cloudflare is bypassed altogether. Unfortunately, I am still experiencing the same issues.
Update;
Based on @coachmjp’s suggestion, I turned off ‘Product Pagination” and this fixed the issue on being able to load the products. On the other hand, the menu is now broken on the front-end and the products affected are no longer showing up in the menu. I then switched over to the Twenty Twenty-One theme, and the menu was working properly again.
Any help to resolve, would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @rippleffect,
Thank you for sharing such a detailed breakdown of all the troubleshooting steps you’ve tried. It’s clear you’ve put a lot of time and effort into this, and I completely understand how frustrating it can feel after doing so much without a resolution.
The issue has already been reported here: https://github.com/woocommerce/storefront/issues/2200
and the developers are currently looking into it. You can follow the progress on that GitHub thread. There isn’t an update yet, but we’ll need to give the dev team a bit of time to investigate and respond.
Thank you again for your patience and understanding. It truly is appreciated.
