    Hi! I’m not sure why this is happening (seems to be happening since the major woocommerce update in March). Sometimes, if I go to the menu and navigate to any product category, ie dorotheerosen.ca/product-category/necklaces/ it redirects to the closest sounding blog post or 404 (in this case https://dorotheerosen.ca/necklaces-lying-around-in-the-park/). If I disable the theme and re-enable it, the problem goes away for uncached users. I can never leave it unfixed as we would lose users, so as soon as I notice it, I disable the theme and re-enable it (ie, if you check now, there will likely not be a problem). Do you have any ideas why this might be happening? Did something change on the backend regarding the permalinks?

    Hi @beezwings. Please go to Settings -> Permalinks and make sure you select the default permalinks and then Save the settings to see if that helps?

    I’ve seen this issue crop up before with multilanguage websites. Can you please make sure that caching is disabled for your WooCommerce pages? If that doesn’t help, I would recommend checking in with the support for [TranslatePress](https://translatepress.com/support/) to see what they suggest.

    Hmmm, I’m a little hesitant to change my permalink structure because of its possible negative effect on our SEO. Right now it’s set to “Custom base: /shop/” for example: https://dorotheerosen.ca/shop/onefooter-ring-silver/ but product categories go here: https://dorotheerosen.ca/product-category/rings/

    That’s interesting that you think it could be translatepress, I’ll look into that. We use cloudflare for caching, and I’m not sure how to eliminate caching (or why would we want to negatively affect speed of site on ecommerce pages?) for those specific pages or if that’s even recommended. Do you mean permanently or temporarily? Thanks for the quick response 🙂

    Hi @beezwings. Certain pages need to be exempt from caching for WooCommerce to work properly. You can learn more about this here. See also https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/ssl-and-https/#section-8.

    Hi, I turned off all caching, and it was still not working (incognito mode as well). I tried disabling woocommerce, and then re-enabling it, and that worked, but this is happening every few days now (even when I’m doing nothing on the site). When I disabled translation plugin and renabled the problem persisted.

    (and also this problem existed before I was using the translation plugin…it seemed to start happening after the big 4.0 woocommerce update)

    So it seems to happen around every 3-5 days. Do you think it is something with the action scheduler?

    Of course! Thanks. Yes, this is happening every two days or so, and always a deactivation and reactivation of woocommerce plugin fixes it (although cached version on browser remains problematic).

    Hi again @beezwings. I don’t see any red flags in your permalink settings. Could you please share your system report with me. You can find it by going to WooCommerce > Status > Get system report and then click Copy for support to be able to paste it in your reply. Also, do you have any fatal errors in WooCommerce > Status > Logs when you click on the dropdown? That may give us some other directions for troubleshooting. At the moment, it sounds as if there may be a conflict between plugins or with the theme on your site.

    Another process for troubleshooting is to do a conflict test. Since testing is difficult on a live site, I recommend setting up a staging site. You can have your host set one up for you if that’s an option or you can use the WP Staging plugin to do so. On the staging site, you can perform conflict testing to see if the issue is caused by one of your other plugins or the theme.

    Hi @beezwings. I suggest the next step is to try conflict testing as suggested in my previous email with a staging site to see if this issue occurs when you’re using a default theme and a small subset of extensions. That could help narrow down what is causing this issue.
