Hi there – I love love permalink manager, but I have one struggle and I can’t seem to figure out why I get this error.

If I have a woocommerce product category as primary section the pagination is working as expected – i get t-shirt/page/2, but if I move it to a subcategory e.g /mens/t-shirt i get a 404 when pressing to page 2 on pagination.

disabling permalink manager and going back to normal permalink, everything works with crappy url…

    help

    Hi @explodedk,

could you provide me with the sample link where the 404 error occurs?

    Best regards,

    Hi @explodedk,

could you make sure that “Force 404 on non-existing pagination pages” option is disabled in Permalink Manager settings?

If not, could you temporarily deactivate my plugin, so I can check how it looks then?

    Best regards,
    Maciej

Hello – force 404 on non-existing pagination pages was disabled.

I’ve disabled your plugin now – new URL is https://ny.plakato.dk/productcat/plakater/fotokunst/

    Hi @explodedk,

hmm, the free version of my plugin does not even include any code that could change the product category permalinks. Do you change the product permalink format via native settings?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to use the same permalink format (without permalink/rewrite base) simultaneously for products & product categories. The rewrite rules must be unique for each content type (that is why /productcat/ is added to native product category URL). Otherwise WordPress will not be able to identify what post/page/product or term should be loaded.

My plugin allows to overcome this problem, because it does not rely on rewrite rules and instead checks if the exact URL is assigned as a custom permalink to any post/page/term. The problem here is that the free version does not allow to change custom taxonomy term permalinks.

I explained it in a more detailed way here:
    https://permalinkmanager.pro/docs/tutorials/duplicate-wordpress-permalink-rewrite-base/

    Best regards,
    Maciej

hmmm. just looked in my functions.php and I had something in there removing the slug.

Can the pro version of permalink manager change the product category url?
