Support » Plugin: Woocommerce Google Feed Manager » Product Category by Product Parent?

Trying to see if way to allow google_product_category to work per product, not per category level.

I have my Woocommerce categories setup as collections, so sometimes a couple Google Product Categories can exist under the same collection.

    Is this possible?

    Hello @casbboy,

I am not sure what you are trying to do.
The plugin relies very much on the webshop category to tie to Google Product categories. It does not allow you to tie separate products to a Google Product Categorie.

There could be a work-around for you to do what you like and that is to use a filter to reset the product category based on a product and set of rules.
It will require you to write some PHP in your functions.php

You can find an example here.

Of course you would alter the $attributes[‘google_product_category’] attribute

Okay. I’ll take a look or maybe create a custom macro to check and use if exists.

To give a gist, I sell bedding and have a Category that is based on the design of the product, but in that Category I have two variation products, one with Duvet Sets and one with Sheet Sets. In Google, these count as two different categories (“Duvet Set” or “Sheet Set”).

    Cheers!

    Yes, I understand your situation.
You could set the category to a level higher so they all fit.
Google will find out (they also have data from your webshop when the y spidered the shop) what category the products belong.
